This blackbird chick in my backyard was too young to fly but moved itself every hour or two and was happily being fed by both parents for several days before moving to my neighbour's garden. They told me it had learnt to fly up into the safety of the bushes where the parents were still feeding it. Their natural instinct to keep moving to a new position helps it avoid attention.
